Well, since everybody else is doing it and I'm bored I guess I'll let you all know what's going on in my life:
1. First Name: Hope
2. Age: just barely 23
3. Location: Davis... for now and the foreseeable future
4. Occupation: nanny, with an inadvertent specialization in twins
5. Partner: none, but I'm working on it
6. Kids: Mason and Avery (3 years old), Jonas and Rylen (just turned 1), and little baby Sam (Allison's little cutie)
7. Siblings: Nicholas... 19, about to start college. Sara... 21, just joined the army, 2 kids (20 months and 8 months), recently divorced due to domestic violence, yet she's letting him keep the kids while she's enlisted
8. Three biggest things going on my life:
*house hunting (yup, we still don't know where we're going to live in 2 1/2 months)
*wondering what to do with my life and what kind of "real" job I should get
*losing weight! when Will and I were dating I was close to 180, after we broke up I was about 160, last summer I was down to 145, after all of the holidays and finals I was up to 158 at the beginning of this year, but in the last 12 weeks or so I've gotten down to 141... just 6 more pounds and I'll weigh less than Will! I'm hoping that by the time I get back from Yosemite in a few weeks I'll be down below 135.
9. School: I've been to 13 schools total, but for now I'm done with school
10. Parents: Risa and Servando (and never the two shall meet)
11. Closest friends: Will (both figuratively and literally since we live together), Allison (though I think Sam is taking most of her attention right now), Hillary (who I don't see nearly often enough), and Becky (who is one of those friends I probably shouldn't have lived with, but who I miss a lot nonetheless) |

I've been lucky to have not had to move often while here in Davis, and when I did have to move I knew where, with whom, and how I would be doing this moving. This year is different. I know that next year Will and I will still be living together, but we need other roommates and we have no idea where we're going to live. I'm ready to start pulling my hair out.
Anybody wanna live with us next year?
also, my birthday party is this weekend (even though my birthday was nearly three weeks ago), people should come, details are on facebook. |

Monday is Cinco de Mayo. Natalie (the Canadian one) and I are going out for tacos and beer to celebrate. Everyone should join us. I'm stealing Will's van so we can all carpool. I will pick everyone up, just let me know if you want to come and where I should get you.

I just cleaned my bathroom! :) I sincerely apologize to anyone who has had to use it recently, as it has been a huge mess for quite a while. Also, I realized that it's really not safe to stand on the edge of a slippery tub barefooted and reach out to clean corners that I can barely reach at the top of my shower... I think I'll ask Will to do it next time, he's a bit taller and slightly less likely to fall and break his neck.
On a completely different note. Our beer fridge just broke, does anybody have one they'd like to sell me or know anybody who wants to get rid of one?

Moving sucks. Becky moved out a few weeks ago and I've been trying all week to move my stuff into her old room so that Natalie can have my room but it's not going so well. First I had to work and then go to a baby shower on the two days that I had planned to do most of the stuff. Then I had way the hell more laundry than I expected (17 loads, but I donated at least 3 loads worth). And to top it all off, when I tried to move my dresser yesterday it broke, so I had to go to Ikea at the last minute and buy a new dresser so I spent a good portion of last night aquiring and then building the dresser rather than moving stuff. I finally have all of the clothes dealt with and most of the furniture moved. All I have to do now is move my bed and deal with the little things.
Then I have to help Allison move her stuff out because she's 36 weeks pregnant and can't lift anything. It's going to be a lot like when she moved in... she was only 12 weeks pregnant, but still couldn't lift things. Fun stuff. I'm going to go try to dismantle my bed now.
In other news, I really like my job. |

Anybody looking for some place to live? We need to replace Allison and Becky, they're both going to be out before March. We've got the big room (10'x12' or 10'x13') and the small room (9 1/2'x9 1/2'). They're renting for $395 and $355, respectively. Also, if anybody wants to live here next year or wants another roommate Will and I will both be looking for places or for somebody to join us here (this is a pretty cool house). We've already posted other places looking for people to sublet, but I just thought I'd throw this out to see if anybody familiar is interested. |

I JUST FINISHED COLLEGE!!!
I am really, really excited... in case you couldn't tell.
Does anybody want to go out and do something tonight? I feel like celebrating.
Also, I'm not sure I told everybody, but my sister finally had her other baby. On Oct. 19 she had a little boy, 8lbs... with a broken arm :( It's an odd bone to break while being born, but it's all healed now. Unfortunately, I won't get to go see them all for Christmas. |

I just ordered a new computer!!! A shiny new (ok refurbished, but new to me) black Apple MacBook. After almost three years of using Will's old laptop I'm very eager to finally have my own computer again.
Also, I have new hair. It's short and dark red (Sally said it was "unbearably cute"). I'm having fun with it until I graduate in December and have to start acting like a grown-up. |

Bad things about losing my full-time job:
*all nanny jobs are in Sac and I don't have a car
*when I was employed full time I was getting constant calls with job offers, now nothing
*lack of funds (first for my employers, now for me)
*those little girls are gonna miss me (they told me so)
Good things about losing my full-time job:
*still have my part-time job
*I'll finally get around to writing my resume
*I don't have to deal with those little girls anymore
*more time for vacationing (especially since my part-time job is very flexible)
So yeah, I need to find a new job. Hopefully a nanny job here in Davis, but if I don't find anything in the next week or so I may resort to other types of jobs. In the mean time I'm going to Ashland next week. We're going to see "As You Like It." :)
Many exciting things are happening though. My dad is moving back down to Redding, so he'll be closer and I'll be able to visit him more often (I haven't seen him since Christmas). My brother is going to move in with him in a couple months and it'll be all sorts of fun. I'll be going to visit my mom and sister for Christmas. I haven't seen them since I visited in September when my niece was born. My sister is due with her second in October... a little boy, they'll be Irish twins. It'll be fun to see both babies, it'll be the first time I'll see the little one and only the second time I'll see the bigger one.
Also, I really like "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends," it's such a great cartoon. |
